The Shine Multi-Academy Trust merged into the Aspire Multi-Academy Trust to form the Aspire and Shine Education Trust on June 1st 2026. This brought together two established primary-school only Trusts with a total of 15 academies across Nottinghamshire and east Derbyshire.

The two Trusts already had many synergies and shared vision and practices which have facilitated the merger.  Alignment and harmonisation of outstanding operational issues will be undertaken over the next two years.
