May 2021: Wow Writing Day at Winthorpe

On Thursday 27^th May, Winthorpe Primary School welcomed Thomas the Gorilla! The children had an assembly and workshops with Thomas throughout the day, covering various conservation and environmental issues. The workshops included using a green screen to produce an animation that the children starred in, and the whole day was used as a stimulus for an end of year writing assessment that the children carried out the following day. Everyone had a fun day and it was great to read everyone’s writing assessments and see how much progress the children have made this year.
